My Answer:
According to the table, the following reports can be drawn from it:
The first report: the changes of the numbers that measured in thousands, for imprisonment in five countries between 1930 and 1980. In Great Britain, the proportion of imprisonment are nearly 30.000, and stayed the same in 1940; it increased gradually by more than 10.000 in almost reported year, then therefore about 80.000 in 1980. In contrast to Great Britain, Australia has the amount in prison decreased two-fold from 100.000 (1930) to 50.000 (1940), and fluctuated around this number in almost years. New Zealand has the same pattern; however, by 1980, the proportions in prison are 80.000, twice as that in Australia. As for US, the amount in prison fluctuated sharply, 100.000 in 1930, around 120.000 in 1940 and 140.000 in 1980. The last country in the report is Canada, it can be seen that Canada is only in which the numbers in prison have decreased over the period 1930 – 1980, from 120.000(1930) to 90.000(1980).
The second report that I’ve drawn is the comparison the proportion of imprisonment. Canada and United states are always on the top numbers; meanwhile other countries are lesser and around 80.000 in 1980.
Thanks a lot
