In the future, it seems it will be more difficult to live on the Earth. Some people think more money should be spent on researching other planets to live, such as Mars. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

It is obvious that we are tackling a lot of serious problems posing a threat to human life on Earth from now on. While I believe this trend will become more and more remarkable, I would argue that expenditure on researching and exploring other planets as our new living place is a waste of money and valuable resources.
On the one hand, the issue of unsustainable life on Earth in the long term has grown in importance recently. In terms of environment, there is ample evidence to suggest that natural resources is gradually depleted by uncontrolled exploitation of human. The extraction of fossil fuels such as gas, oil and coal to meet the basic necessities of people leads to the the shortage of those non-renewable energy in the near future. Another concern that we are facing is the rise in level of pollution around the world, which can have numerous disastrous consequences. A wide range of studies have consistently found that the we have to bear the responsibility of urgent problems such as habitat destruction, the spread of desert. ozone layer depletion and so on, all of which can make the green house effect happen more quickly . For example, in Vietnam, thousands of tons of industrial rubbish were released illegally into the rivers, killing aquatic life and contaminating the drinking water.
On the other hand, I would argue that the spend on some planets is not vital that much. First, a huge amount of funding will be required to finance space exploration, with no guarantee of success. Instead, governments and international leading bodies should use this budget to enhance healthy services globally and provide better quality of education. Secondly, people should prioritize expenditure on the development of advanced technology to address the ecological crisis and fight climate change. For instance, some vehicles are now able to be operated with environment-friendly and renewable energy such as hydrogen or battery.
In conclusion, I would disagree with the idea that people should pour money into settling down in some different planets whereas we should make our effort on creating a long-lasting life in the world such as improving environmental problems and other practical humanity activities.
