As well as making money, businesses also have social responsibilities. Do you agree or disagree?
It is true that one of the main purposes of a company is to create money, but I believe that they should be responsible with society.
On the one hand, there are many reasons why it is important for companies to make money. Firstly, if companies create revenue, they will pay more taxes for governments on their earnings before interest and taxes. Then governments can use these taxes to spend on building hospitals, schools and other public areas which bussinesses can also gain benefits from these public services. Secondly, businesses which create money can expand their sizes and operating fields. This may lead to providing more jobs and reducing employment rate.
At the same time, I believe that companies should have social responsibilities. One reason is that their operating may damage environments such as recharging factory emissions into the air which distribute to global warming. Furthermore, businesses which make profits should put money back into the community through charity and financing scholarships. For example, Vinamilk corporation in Viet Nam set up a scholarship to support poor children who perform well in their studies. This could enhance public image of the company and customers are willing to choose this kind of business just because they care about the society.
In conclusion, apart from making revenue to ensure the development and the existence, companies should have duties for the society.
