Could you please help correct the grammar of sentences

Could you please help me correct the grammar of these sentences?

1 If I've worked the night before I'm not tired, it's when I've been off that I'm tired.
2 Turn the handle to face the plate/so it faces the plate.
3 There isn't that big a difference in salary.
4 You live higher up and I live lower down. You're on the 3rd floor, I'm on the 1st.
5 How long do you need/have to have worked here in order to be able to do that.
6 They placed both next to one another so people could compared sizes.
7 The more they stay together, the more they get into a fight.
8 The system say there are more files than there actually are.
