00I am writing to apply for the Master’s Degree program in British Studies at Humboldt University. 02br

00My aim is to work in an international field related with British history, culture and media and to pursue a career either in the public sector or private businesses that involves these three areas. Therefore, I would like to obtain a deeper theoretical and practical knowledge to improve my qualifications and experience to put me in a best position to continue the development of my career and knowledge in British affairs once, in my point of view, Britain has had a distinctive influence on Europe and the world in diverse areas and it continues to make a decisive contribution to global modernisation. 02br

00I graduated in communication science, with focus on journalism, in the Methodist University of Sao Paulo and in history, with enphasis on world history, in Sao Paulo University, one of the most recognized center of national and international excellence in Brazil. So, in my postgraduate studies I want to integrate my two areas of study, gaining a high level of expertise by exploring and studying the branch of British culture, both of the past and the present time and how the media has and continue to interact and to influence political, economical and social matters, only to spot some of them. 02br

00In addition to my academic background, I also worked for five years for multinational companies as press advisor, where I meet varied cultures, gain capacity of integration and adaptation, developed strong organizational skills as well as ability to accomplish my tasks and assignments on or ahead of schedule. Furthermore, all my academic and professional goals have always been aligned chasing an international career which can also be prove by my multilingual skills (English, German, Portuguese and Spanish), including a period of study in London. 02br

00I also would like to add some activities which have developed in me a permanent sense of leardership, responsibility, team work, commitment and motivation: for fifteen years, I participate of the Scouts where I have the opportunity to develop volunteer work and assistance in nurseries and shantytowns. I also took part in an international camp (Jamboree) in Holland and was responsible for many different management tasks, such as organizing weekly meetings, events, ceremonies and camping activities for the junior members. 02br

00Finally, with a strong background in empirical research, solid foundation in academic theory on history, media, culture and language, combined with a setting of professors and students from all over the world, I am confident that I will have the skills, knowledge and contacts to be able to pursue a career in an England institution/ company on an international level. Therefore, I am confidend that the Master in British Studies that Humboldt University offers is the best option since the course’s program combines perfectly my professional projects and my academic expectations. 02br
