Could you please, correct the following?

- Where do the kids often sleep? - They often sleep at their parents' bedroom. (at, in or are both prepositons correct?)

- How long has he smoked? - He's smoked since April.

- Where did he leave the money? - He left the money on the counter.

(Chains)

 I think we'd better buy tickets for the rock concert;

I think they'd better buy tickets for the rock concert soon;

This 'chain' business is not good, Thereza. Each sentence should end in a period. The semi-colons are wrong, and these are mostly not 'chains' of anything; they are simply word substitutions.

Thanks! In fact the punctuation was lack of attention. Well, I suppose that the following sentences if considered as a substitutional exercise, not a chain, are okay, aren't they? (please, explain me what's wrong with the sentences in red)

I agree with Mister Micawber that these "chain exercises" are not very good. Too many of the sentences end up sounding forced or contrived. Is this an exercise your teacher is asking you to do? Has your teacher explained to you the reason for doing these?

The teacher is asking me to make a sentence and repeat the same sentence just replacing some parts of it by words such as: hardly, scarcely, as soon as or actions like: to come back home, etc... Could you please, tell me which sentences should I consider and which I have to change and how?

I said it needed work because it was incorrect then. The 'No' was for your proposition that both prepositions might be correct. This seems fine: The kids usually sleep in their parents' bedroom every night.

I think they'd better live in their native country now. -- It just seems an odd situation. It they live somewhere else, are they being extradited?
