Could you please explain to me this verse in other words?

Hi there, english is not my native language and I'm having a difficult time figuring out what this sentence from "Cupid De Locke" (a Smashing Pumpkin's Song) means:

"See the devil may do as the devil may care
He loves none sweeter as sweeter the dare"

Could you explain this stuff in other words? Especially the "He loves none sweeter as sweeter the dare" part, I really can't understand it.

Thanks a lot!

I suppose it means he's stimulated by the challenge. The sweetest apple is at the top of the tree.
