I am not a native speaker, so please explain as in detail as possible.
I understand that it is a very polite way to use 'Would you please ...?' to ask for a request. However, is it still the case if the person being asked is not likely to comply? Is it still appropriate to use 'Would you please ...?' in this case without being haughty? Or, does it seems like begging instead of making a polite request? If it is the case, does removing the 'please' from the phrase help?
