Hi, Mr. Micawber ! Thank you! But I'm still a little confused. Is " Could you please not paint any more of that deadly, blinding color" as same as " Couldn't you please paint any more of that deadly, blinding color"? If they were the same, would it suggest I want the listener to paint it?

No, they are not the same. The meaning of my sentence is the same as the meaning of your first effort.

(PS: Logically, you would not want anyone to paint more of a 'deadly. blinding' color anyway!)
