Could you please correct this?

Is this explained well? Is it grammatically correct? What do you think about 'adds to it' What would you say the it stands for as the reader?

To slam a new car's door, you have to close the door with a lot more force than an old one. The new cars have this mechanism where the door will slow down as it closes no matter how hard you slam it closed whereas the old one's don't. They also make a lot of nose which adds to it.

Thanks
