Some people think that environmental problems should be solved on a global scale while others believe it is better to deal with them nationally. Discuss both sides and give your opinion.

The dramatic increase of human activities around the world currently has led to environmental degradation, resulting in many issues for all the species living on earth. Therefore, we are all encouraged to take action on protecting and solving this problem. Some people argue that each country needs to take charge of its own environmental problem whereas some believe the world should tackle it together. Personally, I think it is still better for us to cooperate and work it out.

On the one hand, because of each nation’s diverse characteristics, it is reasonable that they should deal with their problems themselves. Although the shared issue of the world is the environment, we will have different types and causes of them, which means each country will have its way of solutions. For instance, China and the U.S face air and traffic pollution mostly because of their enormous population and their industries while water pollution in Vietnam is caused by their agriculture and factories.

On the other hand, it is better if we can solve those problems globally. Not every country achieves sustainable development to fight environmental problems; they can hardly reduce the dependence on fossil fuels and use those renewable energies due to the lack of money; they can hardly find the solutions to avoid climate change due to the underdevelopment. Moreover, some countries do not have any experiences to handle it and sometimes lead to worse effects. Therefore, it is essential that the developed countries can cooperate and support the developing ones such as providing technology or funding supports. Besides, environmental degradation is a detrimental impact worldwide; thus, we need to have collaboration and agreement of all countries in the world.

Although it seems easier when we go through the environmental problems nationally, the benefits of working together outweigh it. Tackling the issues on a global scale will be more productive
