Korea began to step forward to 'global FTA hurb' by reaching agreement on FTA with EU. Korea has been making an agreement or trying to complete FTA with 44 countries throughout the world, such as America, EU, Asean and India, following by the Cille which is the frist agreed country. With this, Korea could shape comprehensive frame including europe, america and asia by linking developed countries, developing countries and BRICs. The total number of population of 44 countries is about 2,581,110,000 (2008) and its GDP is 34,007,500,000,000 dollar (2007) with 38.5% of the world population and 62.3% of the world GDP. What's more, FTA agreement has been completed except for China and Japan. Therfore, Korean companies are able to market into big market which the tariff and tax are exempted. Consumers will be able to choose various products and services with low prices. However, domestic companies will be exposed to competitiveness.

Currently, The countries which the FTA has been taking effect are Chille, Singapore, Asean and EFTA.

Korea govenment has been aggressively trying to reach agreement with Canada, GCC, Austraila and NewZland.
