Could you please correct my sentence?

There were so many roaches in my home. But one day they were all disappeared. We couldn't find a single roach in our house after that day.But in the place of roaches now there are so many black ants. So, I wanted to tell to my friend that "We found those black ants where we used to find those roaches."Can I say the sentence marked in bold as "We found those black ants where there were previously roaches."?
