People have different views how best to improve trasportation in cities. While some people think that using bicycles in cities is a positive measure, I would argue that futher investment in pudlic transport would be more effective in most cities.

On the one hand, there are several reasons why more money should be allocated to the use of bicycles in cities. Firstly, people argue that this is an eviromental friendly transport because exhaust fumes and carbon emission from vehicles could be avoided by using bicycles. In addition, when people travel to their destination by bicycles, the number of cars that commute in the street will be gradually reduced. Consequently, it will solve the traffic congestion and air pollution issues. Secondly, it is a fact that bicycle riding is a health exercise. Many people are facing diseases such as heart attack or deabetics due to they have less exercises. By riding a bike to work or school, it will help the people in maintaining their health level.

On the other hand, I believe that investing in public transport infrastructure have more advantages than promoting bicycle use. One reason is that public transport is an essential tool for economy development of the city. Modern public transportation can be fast and cheap. Thus, employees from the outside cities can reach their works more rapidly with less effort. Another reason is that it is undeniable that public transportation also can help to reduce pollution and traffic as well. Moreover, they also believe that public transportation could be used by everyone, while bicycle lane could not be used by old and handicapped people.

In conclusion, I hope that cities will become more bicycle-friendly in the future, I believe that more money should be spent on publuc transport infrastructure than on promoting of cycling.
