Bintang Pujaan is a movie about Rina who is a singer and film actress. She and Hassan loved each other. However, their relationship began to crack when Rina wants to continue her career. After Hassan got a new job at a construction company owned by Nancy family, love between Rina and Hassan reunited back and brought to marriage and had a son. Rina become housewife and left her job as a singer. Dysfunctional families, and changes in life happened when Hassan injured and unable to continue his job. Because of that, Rina back into the nightclub world without a blessing from Hassan. Rina, known as Farah Mohsein continue to rise and began to be arrogant, forgetting her responsibilities as a wife and a mother. Hassan lonely and Nancy came to make his life happier. At the same time, the relationship with an actor, Sabri brings Rina to the drug addiction. Rina had been fired from her job. At last, she and Hassan agreed to get back together again. Erich Fromm once said, "Men are born equal but they are also born different." Therefore, if we compare this film with today's Malay film there are a big difference such as, the character, the technology, and the lesson given to the viewers, but at the same times, they are still similar in the purpose of storyline, actress, and the ending. The difference between Bintang Pujaan which is movie in 80's and the movie nowadays is nowadays there must be at least one actress who will wear hijab, unlike movie in 80's in which the actresses do not totally covered their body. In addition, we also have been exposed to the Islamic culture which is hijab has been a trend in this era. Besides that, now, movie is rich with sophisticated technologies, for example, there are many sound effects used in a movie and there are also have 3D in the movie itself. Films today were more made-up than film of the 1980 which they generally followed the guide line of introduction, climatic point, climax and more resolution, but today, there may be a number of climax's or climatic points. The climax in the film nowadays was much more exaggerated with skills of voice and movement. Plus, the movie is more advanced now because of colored while the movie in 80's only black and white and film in 80s is more songs if compared to film now which is straight forward and ease the viewers to understand the story. However, these sophisticated technologies result in highly budget to been produced compared to before. Other than that, if we study the movie before, each movie gives lessons and good example to the viewers. However, film nowadays is more to entertainment. Film nowadays is more to love, but film before has provide us with many consciousness especially love towards the family as been shown in Bintang Pujaan. Even though there are many differences between movie in 80's and movie nowadays, but there are also similarities between them. Both of the movies have a very good storyline which attract people to watch that movie. The movie itself displays the famous actor which can also boost the spirit of the audience to watch the movie. In addition, both of the producers have their same aim which is to gain profit from the movie they made and at the same time to amuse the watcher. Besides that, if we realized, the actress even todays movie or before, they displayed the same role. They loved their children and family very much. Even in the real life also, the woman concern more about their family if compared to their works. Last but not least, both the film has only two ending, either sweet ending or sad ending. In conclusion, there are differences and similarities between film nowadays and film in 1980's. Both of the producer whether in 80's or in 2000, they have their own ways in creating the storyline and in providing the best movie to the audiences so that they will makes money from that movie. The role of actress as well as the ending of the story is also alike. They have also dissimilarity when it comes to the character, the technology, and the lesson given to the viewers.
