For a long time, museums and art galleries have played an important role in conserving and conveying historical values. Many individuals believe that they should only show works that represent their country's culture and history. In my opinion, I disagree with this perspective since international works are likewise quite valuable.

On the one hand, museums and art galleries should prioritize preserving national assets such as domestic history and local culture. Therefore, People will acquire a better knowledge of their country by visiting these museums and galleries, as well as the country's golden ages and terrible times. Moreover, many minority ethnic groups are at grave risk of losing their culture; hence, displaying their works and artifacts will help to maintain their culture as well as a nation's cultural variety. For this reason, it is understandable when historical relics and works of art from the country always have special places in any museums or galleries.

On the other hand, showing international works of art has several merits. Works from different areas of the world contribute to the diversification of the content of museums and art galleries. Although the importance of museums and art galleries cannot be overstated, its failure to adapt to changes and update collections has discouraged people from visiting these institutions. As a result, international works will increase the appeal and help museums and galleries attract more people. Furthermore, if museums exhibit international works, people will have more opportunities to learn about and understand different cultures.

In conclusion, while certain museums and art galleries should focus on national heritage, many others should exhibit artifacts and works of art from other nations.
