I didnt understand the following sentence because of the use of "prior to which"

Can anyone explain me in simple way?

I'd say it means little more than 'before':

- Occasionally we will phone you to confirm your instructions. In that case, we will always check the agreed security questions before discussing your requirements.

Does it mean "prior to confirmation "?

I didn't find the sentence that easy to understand. Strictly speaking, I suppose the 'which' refers back to the asking for confirmation:

- We may ask, by phone, for you to confirm your instruction, prior to which we will ask you the security questions
