In general, there are nine steps to make corn turn into ethanol and none of the steps can be skipped.
To begin with, corn needs to be harvested and stored for a period of time. After that, the stored corn will be milled and prepared for the cooking process. In the next step, the milling corn will be cooked for 4 hours with an amount of water. After the cooking process, the products will be fermented for 48 hours, about 2 days. The cooked and fermented corn will be separated into liquid and solid by-products.The process of producing ethanol only requires the liquid product of the separating process. The most important step is to purify ethanol. This process requires a liquid product and takes 5 hours to purify into ethanol fuel. After that, the ethanol from corn will be stored and transported to consumers.
