For example, some scientific information is easily found on the internet, which gives good sources for terrorists to make bombs or becomes guidelines for fraudsters to cheat innocent people. Moreover, great academic results might be copied by somebody very conveniently.
On the other hand, open information benefits people's lives. Developing nations can be helped with advanced data from developed countries. For instance, shared medical information can be used for saving lives and improved business methods enable them to trade efficiently. In addition, they would be able to educate the public better with academic knowledge shared by international tertiary educational institutes. Furthermore, shared information often becomes good sources for advanced technology and study. It stimulates people to come up with new ideas which improve people's lives. For example, Windows, a computer operating system, was invented using the previous open information, which is now indispensable for people's lives. The system has contributed to organizing documents and connecting the internet which are necessary for convenient lives.
In conclusion, although open information could be misused by offenders, sharing information is crucial for improvement of life quality. From my point of view, the advantage outweighs the disadvantage.
