On the evening of the show, everything is done and it’s just about socialising. It’s a weird turnaround really. But I really enjoyed doing it, the hotel were amazing, let me do whatever I wanted, really helped out.

And I have some questions about it as well.
1. "The show" = the exhibition, not the gigs?
2. "It’s a weird turnaround really." = It takes really short time?
3. "really helped out" - really helps me?

A gig is where a performer sings or dances on stage. Can anyone "socialize with the attendees" while doing a gig??

2. "It’s a weird turnaround really." = It takes really short time?

No, a "turnaround" usually refers to a situation that has changed from unsuccessful to successful, from not so good to very good. The exhibition turned out to be (strangely) very successful.

3. "really helped out" - really helps me?

But I really enjoyed doing it. The hotel was amazing, let me do whatever I wanted, and really helped out.

The staff at the hotel assisted me in many different ways to make the exhibition a success.
