Could you help me understand this sentence?

Hi,

I found this sentence in a novel and I don't get what it means. Could you please explain it for me?

"The marketing agency was hired help to the clients, who were usually older upper-management males, and liked to wave their antediluvian sense of humour in her face."

Thank you!
