Nowadays, the severity of environmental pollution is unmeasurable. So who are responsible for this catastrophe? Are they the governments or the residents? In my point of view, the people who have to take charge of it are the citizens because they are the subject that have lots of influence on the environs. As a result, they have to be the object to take responsibility for looking after their neighborhood.
It seems that the residents don’t have much consciousness of how damaged the environment is when every daily activity they do dump the waste without any waste diposal. Domestic waste perfectly exemplifies for this problem. The domestic waste and also the smoke coming from transport that use gas trigger many consequence to the habitat such as putting marine life in jeopardy or soil and air degradation. In order to solve this issue, the major effect depends on individuals’ consciousness, their responsibility plays a key role in changing consumer habit. Therefore; raising awareness of each person, showing them the acuteness of contamination, bringing the environmental protection idea into force are the top three priorities in putting an end of habitat undermining.
However, if we only rely on local people’s attitude, it can’t get to the root; governments’ support is vital as well. Due to the careless, contempt, cavalier of few people; strict laws and punishments must be brought out to guarantee firing on all cylinders of the project. In case of small-scale situations, hassles will be dealt by the residents themselves but if the problems are international-level ones then they are only tackled by laws; factories, industrial estates are the objects which are insinuated under this circumstance. Consequetly, governments play an irreplaceable role to regulate the activities that effect the environs and minimize the amount of natural pollution.
In conclusion, taking care of the local environment is not only responsibility of any individual but of all community; therefore, everyone should join hands to preserve their own neighborhood.
