"cuboid" is the word. It is certainly not wrong to describe a box as cuboid, but as a way of explaining what a box is, it kind of seems "the wrong way round". "box" is a familiar and common word, yet "cuboid" is a technical word, so it is unlikely that someone would understand the word "cuboid" and yet not know what a box was.

Of course, not all boxes are cuboid. You may want to describe a particular box as cuboid not to explain what a box is generally, but to make clear that this one is not some other shape,
