Could you help me?

1. Could you tell me which one is correct in the following sentence?

(1) Few people enjoy prosperity of economic development in China, but most of the others suffered by the very development.

2. What it the difference among 'go over', 'check' and 'check it out' in details? Could you give me some example sentences to let me understand the correct usage of them?

I think that the two clauses should be joined by and rather than by but. You might also change the first part to "enjoy any prosperity from economic...."
