It is often argued whether the current technological advancement is attributed to the ongoing separation of affluent people and their counterparts who live in poverty. From my perspective, I strongly believe that such development will do wonders for narrowing the differences between them.
Granted, one might debate that the main reason for such gaps is the recent improvement in science. This is predicated on the assumption that the automation offered by technology would eventually replace manual labour, and thus, lead to an increase in the unemployment rate in the lower classes in particular. However, this line of reasoning is not sound because such modern machines could just support human rather than completely handle everything, and there are even more job opportunities for them as the development of science provides more various potential fields. For example, Japan, which has been used robots for manufacturing, has a considerable low rate of joblessness, since there are more particular gigs for workers which involve controlling the producing systems and organizing the automation of these robots. This goes to show that modern technological applications clearly help to provide more opportunities, which narrows the gap between two classes in terms of finance.
In addition, these technologies could help to make public amenities more accessible. Their applications on manufacturing are capable of mass production, which makes the prices for buying equipment more affordable. For instance, the machines used in hospitals will be less exorbitant, which makes the fees for health care and diagnosing diseases lower. Therefore, those who have a low income can also use these services more frequently instead of the rich only. Moreover, this proves that the quality of life of all two classes would be enhanced as technology gives them more comfort and creates inclusive public services.
In conclusion, opinions are divided on whether modern technological developments contribute to creating a gap between the wealthy and the poor. However, my firm conviction is that the impacts that science exerts totally bring them closer as it provides the lower classes with more jobs and improving their life quality.
