Could you fix it? IELTS task 1_the population aged 65 and over between 1940 and 2040 in three different countries.

The given graph illustrates the percentage of people in the 65 and older age group over a period of 100 years.

As can be seen from the graph the proportion of Sweden and the USA senior reported a relative increase over the period shown while Japan experienced a slight change before being predicted to strike an impressive rise at almost 27% in 2040.

In 1940, USA hold the largest proportion of men and woman aged 65 years and older, compared to 7% and 5% of Sweden and Japan respectively. While USA and Sweden witnessed a gradual increase in the number of senior population, there was a slight fall in the proportion of Japan from 1940 to 2040.


By the year 2000, Sweden exceeded the USA to held the highest number of population aged 65 and over until the year 2030. It is forecasted that the number of people aged 65 years and older in Japan will be top the graph at 27% after gathering a pace in 2030, while the figure for Sweden and the USA will be slightly lower at 25% and 23% respectively.
