1. When did Felix receive the phone call? -- Some of your questions remain very unnatural. No one would ask 'during what part of the day...?' Let the student find his/her own understanding of the question. Possible answers: At 8 AM. In the morning. On the 3rd day. Any combination of those 3. If you wish a more specific answer, then ask 'What time...?"

2. Did Felix talk on the phone? -- Yes, he did. In native English, 'talking on the phone' includes merely listening.

3. Why was Felix excited? Because the police found Dinon.-- This is as much answer as you should reasonably expect: his excitement was only at finding Dinon; where is irrelevant.
