Could you evaluate my work?

Investment in local amenities such as leisure centres is the best way for the government to foster a good community spirit.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

What other measures do you think might be effective?

Until recently, various policies regarding the promotion of community spirit had been enacted by the government with ineffectiveness. A plethora of people thus believe spending on local amenities such as leisure centres is the most effective way to instil community spirit. In my view, whilst I think such approach should be implemented for its various benefits, I also support the reinvigoration of local festivals as an alternative solution.

Firstly, the establishment of entertainment facilities will encourage face-to-face interaction among the populace. As a result, close relationship between individuals, which is the catalyst for community spirit, are formed. Secondly, communal gatherings can be organized by means of these entertainment centres. For example, the local council can make use of open space, owned by leisure centres to hold certain events that deepens the bonds of community. In short, leisure centres are the perfect mediums to improve communal bonds.

In addition to the aforementioned proposal, the resurgence of festivity has the potential to nurture close-knit community spirit. Undoubtedly, work pressure and stress originating from parental responsibility have become the norms of the modern world. The advent of local festivals, therefore, will alleviate these stressors while human demand for social communication will be satisfied. Ultimately, in such communal settings, people are likely to reach a consensus, contributing substantially in the event of public projects.

In conclusion, whereas I fully agree with the idea of allocating government resources for constructing local amenities, I am inclined to believe festivals deserve more attention from the authority as well.
