Could you edit a vacation time off request

Dear Mr.

I am writing to request an extension for vacation leave from March 23, 2010 through April 5, 2010. For a Christmas present, my wife purchased a 7 day cruise vacation for me and I am going to need time to travel to and from the destination of the cruise. To save money we will be driving instead of flying.

All though I have not been employed here for a long period of time, I do very much appreciate my time spent here. I would like to thank you in advance for your understanding in this matter and look forward to some quality time with family on this vacation.
