Could you correct or confirm the questions? (9)

Hi teachers,
Accoding to the text:
Baxter got into the car first. Halls was right behind him. “You drive. You know the area better than I do,” Baxter said. They raced out of the town and into the dark countryside.

Are the following questions suitable?
a) Who entered in the car before Halls?
b) Who was in front of Halls?
c) Why does Hall have to drive?
d) They raced out of the town and into the dark countryside. I really don't know which one to write for this one.
This one, 'How did they get out of town?'. doesn't sounds very weird.
