Could you comment on the following please. Also, please help me selecting one of the verbs in bold.

"This decrease is manifested in all aspects except for general and mental health, which indicates that those people around the patient should treat them with more love and care. Vitality and social functioning, among other aspects, were significantly reduced, which are comparable to the previous study. Based on previous findings, it can be concluded that heart surgery may not necessarily alleviate/ relieve/ reduce pain, improve the patient's physical function, and thus affect the quality of life.
