Could you check this sentence please?

Hi,

Could you check the following sentence please?

- Does "after" and "at the end of" convey the same meaning in this sentence? If yes, which one fits the sentence better?

- Is there any other word that can be replaced by "add" in this sentence?

"At the end of 4 months treatment with sensor stimulation, started from August X [the year], neuromuscular electrical stimulation was added with the aim of retraining and strengthening the muscles of the pharynx and suprahyoid area."

Thanks!
