Hi,
Could you check the following please? Can I omit the second verb (underlined part) to avoid repetition? If yes, what is the grammatical rule?
"The mean standard deviation was used to describe the quantitative variables, and the frequency report (percentage) was used for the qualitative variables.
Thanks!
gillyflower Can I omit the second verb (underlined part) to avoid repetition? No. "For" does not appear in the first clause.

No. "For" does not appear in the first clause. There has to be exact parallelism for that to work. For example, "The mean standard deviation was used for the quantitative variables, and the frequency report (percentage) for the qualitative variables."
