Could you check this paragraph about how to discpline children?

Parents in the west raise their children with stricter disciplines than those in Japan. Suppose a child starts to cry because he can't get his parents to buy what he really wants. In such a case, Japanese parents would calm him down, humor him well by saying something nice, or gives in and buys it for him. Parents in western countries, in contrast, would let him keep crying until he gets tired and stops doing so. They are strict with their parents because they believe that it's a good way to discpline their children in a proper way.

Thank you very much for your corrections:-) I misspelled "discipline" and confused parents with children!! I appreciate your making me aware of those by myself. Also, I shouldn't have used "in a ----way" twice:-(
I think I'll just change "in a proper way" into "properly."

As a western parent, I have to ask: How are your children not spoiled if they know that if they whine and cry long enough, mom and dad will buy them whatever they want? Don't they see that as getting rewarded for being very unpleasant little humans?
