Hello! Here is my essay on the topic:
Although more and more people read news on the Internet, newspapers remain the main source of news for the majority of people. To what extend do you agree or disagree?
Could you help me check if I have any grammatical mistakes or if I there are some unnatural parts? Thank you very much.
With the continuing development of science and technology in modern society, online browsing to get access to what is going on round the world is not an uncommon thing anymore. But some believe that even though online newspapers are popular these days, they can never replace the most important sources for the world: the printed ones. To my view, I do not agree with this statement.
First and foremost, everyone can realize that the Internet is slowly replacing other methods of acquiring information. 10 years ago, magazines and newspaper could be seen everywhere and they were the only way for people to get access to news and information. But as Internet is growing rapidly nowadays, finding a piece of news online is much faster and also more convenient. Not everyone reads online newspapers, but they definitely are no worse than the printed ones. Also, there is a reason why some news sites are really popular worldwide, it’s because people don’t seem to find any troubles reading news on the Internet.
Secondly, the Internet updates much quicker. Unlike printed newspapers and magazines which takes a day, or even a week to publish, updating on the Internet is just a click away. With the growing demand of accessing information these days, obviously offline newspapers are under a big disadvantage. Also, browsing news on the Internet can help people skip a whole process of buying a bunch of newspapers and manually finding for the essential information as newspapers tend to focus on one kind of information only.
In conclusion, browsing news on the Internet is definitely not the only way of accessing information, but is no doubt one of the quickest and the most convenient. Newspapers may not be completely replaced by the Internet, but they will not be able to dominate the market like before anymore.
