Overview of Photoshop interface and functionality of the environment Technical fundamentals of bitmap (raster) images Organizing an interface and workspace Identifying the various parts of the workspace and their purpose Introduction to file formats Basic colour profiles (CMYK and RGB) Importing files from hard drive Functionality of basic tools Basic operations (opening, saving, selecting) Exercise: Basic file operations (Opening and Closing) Using selection tool remove the background of an image and clean up the details, change the background and play around with colours/gradients Zoom and crop part of the picture, change brightness and contrast for a whole picture or part of the picture Use a Palette menus and a context menus Use undo actions to correct errors and/or to make different choices Save created images and print them
