Could you check it pls, urgent!!! Summary on “Protests in Brazil 2013”
Summary on “Protests in Brazil 2013” One of the big protests that started with high speed on June 6th in Sao Paulo where over 20 bus fares changed into the huge street demonstrations in street of Brazil. Such demonstrations in Brazil were since 20 years ago, when people demanded in streets against of their president and corruption charges. And the protests were dismissed by brutal organisers called “ The movement for free travel”, an extremist group had an unrealistic aim, where the public transport should be free. On June 13th all changed when the states enormous, poorly trained and cruel military police turned friendly demonstration into a horrible rout. Lots of demonstrators and journalist were injured where the military police officers used rubber bullets at fleeing protesters and hunting strugglers through the streets, protestors forced to use gas, pepper spray and vinegar where it lead to likely to loose their sight in eye and health issues. In that following days newspapers columns started taking it in a different tone. By June 17th the aims were growing even more it was spreading out, with people requiring for better public services, less corruption and control of inflation. Also, people were bothered and protested by cost of the stadium which was building for the next year’s football World Cup and where Brazil had already spent more then 7 billion reals. Protestors were more diverse with many woman and families middle-aged folk in Sao Paulo. Later that day the state security chef Fernando Grella Vieira agreed the route where rubber bullets should be stopped using toward the protesters unless they get violent, and it lead to a mostly peaceful event. In recent years similar rise papered in countries such as Britain, France, Sweden and Turkey with following features, high youth unemployment, racial conflict, falling living standards, government repressions and last but not least anger over the immigration. However the story of Brazil is different, its democracy more stable and the Brazilian racism is not in a daily street battles it is more internalised reality and all the protestors were white people. Also, it has seen that Brazilian living standards marked as sustained rise in the countries history. Brazilians pays the highest taxes comparing to any country outside the developed world and get terrible public services in return. Violent crime, cocaine is sold and used openly in the big city centres, where a poor wage workers in the centre of the cities whose employer doesn't even cover the transport expenses. But it is not surprising in a country of having a problems with inequality, and the economic rise in the past decade has shown big gains to those people. I asked my self question why now? I suppose the rise in inflation where it is a pain to Brazilians who are still getting the modest incomes. More, in 2009 for the first time the half of population of Brazil was considered as a middle class where it is developing in a new relationship with the government. I strongly believe, that Brazilians will seek only further improvements in every aspect no matter if it is for better living standards or fight for their rights and not fall back into poverty.
