Could You Check?

Hello. In the following sentences, which is OK? I think (1), (2), and (6) are OK.

[write with ditransitive/dative]
1. John wrote Mary a letter, but she didn't receive it.
2. John wrote a letter to Mary, but she didn't receive it.


[hand with ditransitive/dative]
3. John handed Mary a letter, but she didn't receive it.
4. John handed a letter to Mary, but she didn't receive it.


[throw with ditransitive/dative]
5. John threw Mary a ball, but she didn't catch it.
6. John threw a ball to Mary, but she didn't catch it.
