Could they be suitable synonyms? (9-5)

Hi teachers,
Could they be suitable synonyms for 'get off' in the following sentence?
a) leave (it)
b) descend (from it)

There’s someone on a bike! And look! He is going to get off.

Thanks in advance.

'Leave' = move away from. B is possible but really rather weird. Only 'get off' seems natural to me, though in the old days they 'dismounted'.

Ah! I rather like that. I'm going to start saying that.

Hi Mister Micawber,
Thank you for your reply. I though 'dismount' was only for horses. On a second thought, it also means 'remove'.
