Could these be appropriate directions?

I cannot do the exercise myself from the directions you have given, TS. I don't understand what is wanted. Please supply an example response.

Thank you for your reply and care. That exercise is for low intermediate students. The only problem they may have is with the word, 'relating'. But if I tell them that it means 'connecting' or 'making a connection with', I don't think they would have any problems at all.
