Could the phrases “a poem/song of __” and “a poem/song by __” be possibly interchanged?

Could I possibly use the phrases “a poem/song of _” and “a poem/song by _” interchangeably?

Examples:

• This is a poem of/by John Ashbery.
• Those are songs of/by David Pomeranz.

How about the phrases “story/novel of _” and “story/novel by _”?

Example:
• That is a story/novel of/by Dan Brown.
