Could somebody tell me is that a correct sentence?

For the first time I'm wrighting a motivation letter in English and I would be grateful if somebody could ,,evaluate" this sentence:) (my point here was that my job included checking if there are all necessary legal documents for signing contracts, agreements and etc)
I am writing to express my interest in the position of Associate Director of Student Recruitment
Performing evaluation of conformity of the legal documents to the requirements provided by law.
