'Could never have tell' vs 'could never have told'

Hi, I heard someone saying 'I could never have tell'. Is this the right usage of the idiom 'can never tell'? Shouldn't it be 'I could never have told', considering correct grammar? The conversation goes something like this:

A: Mary is looking stunning, but she just came out of the hospital from a surgery 2 days ago.
B: Wow, I could never have tell that she was in hospital recently.
