Could it be an appropriate question and answer?

Hi teachers,
This is the context: ( Felix is the Inspector)
But perhaps he had friends in prison, Felix said. Perhaps they know something. I need to talk to people at the prison.
Could it be an appropriate question and answer?
What did Felix want to inquire about?
He wanted to inquire if he had friends in prison and if they knew something.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Shawn,
Thank you for your reply. You are right, 'he' is ambiguous. What I should write is 'Dinon'. He is the man who escaped from prison.
