Could it be a suitable question and answer?

Hi teachers,
This is for a listening comprehension exercise. The text is from a CD. (The Elephant Man)
Context:
I smiled. ‘Joseph,’ I said. ‘This is your home now. Don’t you understand? You can stay here all your life.’ Very carefully, I told him about the letter to The Times, and the money.

Assuming that we know that 'here' is 'the hospital', would the following be suitable questions and answers? Did Merrick forget his mother? No, he didn’t.
1. Where could Joseph live his whole life? He could live in the hospital.
Could there be another question according to the text given?

Thanks in advance.

I think I would use this one instead: 1. Why could Joseph live his whole life in the hospital? A letter to The Times had brought in a lot of money in donations.
