Could it be

Hi everybody..

Could someone tell me how to express "could it be" in other word.
For example in this sentence "Could it be she already took the map before we are?"

Any help would be appreciated.

Perhaps she already took the map. Of course this is a statement instead of a question, but it amounts to the same thing. Could she have already taken the map?

  • Could she have already taken the map?

I wonder if she already took the map. (Again, a statement.)
