Could hear the saw and hammer all day...

Is the red part natural? Any suggestions please?

I'm sick and tired of the family downstairs. All day long you can hear the saw and hammer. Their work never gets done.

Also, could you please tell me what sound a hammer makes?

All day long I could hear the ______________________ of the hammer. blowing? banging?
