Could have or could

Hi all,

Which one is correct?

1- I could have never imagined how funny he is.

or

2- I could never imagine how funny he is.

Azi2017 1- I could have never have imagined how funny he is. As shown above. You can also use 'was' instead of 'is' at the end.
