If you had polished the artwork up more, it could have been awesome. But now it is rather ordinary.

This is largely OK, but be aware that "rather ordinary" can come across as quite a strong criticism (possibly stronger than you imagine). I would probably move the word "up", and I suggest changing the word "now". I would suggest changing "now" to "as it is", but "as it is, it is" can seem a mouthful.
