Could have been

Hello.

Is it possible to use "could have been" like below?


A: Where did you hear the news from?

B: Maybe it was FOX news, but it could've been CNN. I'm not sure. (I don't remember which.)


If it's wrong, please teach me how I should say it. Thank you in advance.

That's fine. That's a case of "it could have been" used as "maybe it was".
